I have been interested in theater since I was young. As a teenager I played in the middle school theater in Zurich. In addition to my studies at college of economy I worked in the evenings in the theater at Neumarkt as a wardrobe attendant and usher, and so came into contact with theater, actors and acting students at an early age.

In 1970 I discovered the Spanish author Fernando Arrabal, who was living in exile in France. His one-act play “The Labyrinth” fascinated me and I found young fellow students to perform this play under collective direction as an amateur theater. Under the name “Werkstattbühne 62”, the play was performed as an experiment in August 1970 in the student theater “Keller 62” in Zurich.

Fifty years later I entered the film world by chance as an extra (see under “Film”) and my love of theater was awakened again. After being an extra in about a dozen films, I knew that I wanted to play smaller roles in theater and films. Despite my advanced age, I was looking for a training opportunity to be able to fulfill this desire and wish to communicate and convey through acting.

At the end of 2023 I found the StageArt Musical & Theatre School (SAMTS) in Adliswil near Zurich, where I began studying to become an actor at the beginning of 2024. I am very happy about it because it enables me to achieve goals that have long been dormant.

The world of theatre is so rich and diverse and offers me so many opportunities.
